Class 5 Hurricane Irma making landfall in Havana

September 9, 2017 — Class 5 Hurricane Irma (the strongest in recorded history) makes landfall in Havana. Kai walks the Prado and is the last civilian to capture footage on the Malecón, as police cordon off the coastal road before 9 metre / 30′ foot waves batter Cuba’s coast. During the first few hours the contrast from the shoreline and a few blocks inland is stunning. By midnight, all hell broke loose.
