Don’t Eat The Cactus

so lucky not to eat that cholla

Dropping in to the Bay of Conception I dumped Bleu twice.  Each under 5km/hr.  The 2nd time we bit it was nearly on top of this young cholla cactus.  Twenty minutes earlier we took a dive in “sugar sand,” a term used by Daniel the Albertan Traveler who helped get us upright.

How to avoid a Yard Sale:  sand changes it’s consistency, weight, resistance quickly.  Do not lift your eyes off the prize, which is simply moving forward.  Don’t let that dog distract you.  The slower you move the harder it is to turn and easier it is to find yourself getting horizontal.
